The Effects of Integrated Art Therapy upon Obese Children: Focusing on Self-image, Stress, Self-efficiency, Self-respect

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the psychological and emotional effects of integrated art therapy upon stress, self-image, self-efficiency, self-respect of obese children. The subject of this study were 48 children selected from those who are prescribed exercise at a wellness center attached to D university, with permission of their guardians. The research results were as follows: First, integrated art therapy was found to have a positive effect on the self-image of obese child. Second, integrated art therapy was found to have effects on the stress of obese child. Third, although the program was not statistically significant in self-efficiency of obese child, it showed some variation in results and the mean. Forth, integrated art therapy program was found to have effects on self-respect of obses child. Therefore, in the research, integrated art therapy program found to have effects upon self-image, stress, self-efficiency, and self-respect of obese child.
